About

I’m Emma, and I’m an artist, illustrator and writer living in Northumberland with my husband and our two daughters.

Most of my work in this season of my life is created alongside life at home with the girls. It’s created because when an idea comes into my head, I’ve just got to get it out and onto paper — be it the back of an old shopping list, an unopened envelope or even an important document (nothing is safe from me and my pen!).

Luckily I get to spend a lot of time painting, cutting, sticking, drawing and making a mess alongside the girls too. In fact, I’ve found that having my days full of caregiving and conversations and cuddles only gives me more fodder for my art, and makes me want to create more. And when I don’t have the time or capacity to create as much as I want to, I try to have a deep trust that whatever I am able to bring forth into the world right now is exactly enough.

This is a space to sell the art that I do manage to make. It will also be home to archive work I’ve made in the past — art that has been sitting patiently in my studio, waiting for its chance to find a home. I’ll be selling both original pieces, and limited edition hand-signed prints. I’ll announce on my instagram @hungryromantic when an original ‘drop’ is due.

Thank you for being here, and I hope a piece might find its way onto a wall in your home, or in the hands of a loved-one as a gift.
